Transparent Ink and opacity.
Most of the inks we sell are transparent and strong. If the inks are too strong and printing too dark with your chosen weight of colour then add transparent ink up to any amount that you need before addind any oils that might be needed for your printing process. To make an ink opaque so that it overprints another ink but retains its own colour. Then add Opaque white up to any amount that you need. This will make the ink paler.
Metallic Inks and Ideas for their use
With some colours you could make the ink opaque by adding silver, pewter or any of the golds. The colours to try this on are: Yellows ,Orange amd Reds try a small amount of gold.(silver makes them dirty) Greens try Silver or Golds. Blues try silver (golds make them go greener) Browns try gold (silvers make them dirty) You will need to experiment for the best results. The smoother the paper the brighter the metallic will look when printed on their own. Try printing the metallic ink over a dried ink for better results but add a drop of cobalt drier to the metallic to help it dry faster.
